 “It’s My Happy Place!”

Students call our riding center their “happy place”. They look forward to coming here each week to see their BFF – whether it’s Bear, Z, Steven or another four-legged friend.

Here, small miracles happen every day: Increased language, reduced anxiety, increased self-esteem, special new friendships, stronger muscle tone that improves posture and mobility.

Programs take place at our purpose-built facility situated on 40 acres of Warrington Township preserved open space in Bucks County, PA. The township generously offered us a 30-year lease on this property in 1999.

Our Riding Center

The center features a 21-stall barn with an observation lounge and administrative offices, the Widener Therapy room, an indoor arena, the Chapman Outdoor Ring and the Village Improvement Association Round Pen.

A fun and engaging Sensory Trail is located just outside the indoor arena and offers 35 interactive experiences for horse and rider, many created through Eagle Scout projects. Corporate groups volunteer numerous hours to help maintain the trail and other riding areas, including Comcast, Merck, ReedTech and Janssen.

Special Equestrians’ therapy horses have been trained to expect the many activities going on throughout a lesson, including tossing toys, playing wind chimes and passing balls and hoops – all while working in close proximity with an instructor, a leader and one or two side aides.
