Welcome to Special Equestrians

Horses . . .

Next Big Event: SE's 15th Annual Charity Golf Tournament, April 25, 2016

For more than 30 years, Special Equestrians has been harnessing the healing power of horses to improve the physical, mental, and emotional well being of individuals with disabilities through the equine experience.

For people with physical disabilities, riding improves strength, balance, posture and flexibility.

For those with cognitive, emotional, and behavioral challenges, the team of horse, instructor, and volunteers helps with focus, concentration, and social interactions.

Best of all, horses help everyone develop self-confidence, independence, and trust in themselves and others.

We are committed to serving anyone who can benefit from our services, regardless of their ability to pay. Special Equestrians’ general lesson fee covers slightly less than 50 percent of the actual cost to the organization of providing the service.  We provide additional scholarships for roughly 25 percent of our riders.
