Therapeutic Riding is our largest program, and combines traditional riding instruction with specialized work tailored to each rider's needs, skills, and goals. The unique, three-dimensional movement of the horse directly mimics a natural human walking gait, providing deep sensory input, balance challenges, and opportunities to lengthen and tone both core muscles and extremities.
Students in our Therapeutic Riding Program build confidence and independence as they develop mastery of different riding skills at their own pace. Lessons are structured to teach basic horse care, including grooming and tacking, as well as equitation skills. Mounted activities may include structured stretching, practice of new skills, games, independent riding, and exercises tailored to each student’s specific needs.
Our PATH International certified instructors use the horse and the barn environment as motivators, making hard work into challenging fun.
While riders are learning basic riding skills, they are also improving
